The Random Things We Love to Make and Do

Curlformers, Yeah! January 25, 2011

Finally, a hair related post!  I have seen a great product called Curlformers on a few different hair blogs, but the first place I saw it was on Babes in Hairland.  I have since wanted Curlformers desperately.  I even asked Santa for them.  And Santa?  He came through for me!

.

So most of you are probably asking yourselves right now…What are Curlformers?  They are an amazing product for curling hair without heat.  Here is a package of Curlformers, and the hook needed to use them:

.

.

As you can sort of see, they are spiral shaped mesh tubes.  Using the hook, you can pull sections of wet hair inside the tubes, where they can dry naturally, or be blow dryed.  I was thinking of how to show you all exactly how to use them, but instead of taking 1,000 pictures, I thought I would just direct you to a video at the bottom of the Curlformers website.  It shows exactly how to work these babies.  (**Click here**)

.

Once in, your daughter will look something like this:

One of the best things about these curlers is that they are soft.  You could sleep in them if you wanted to.  For Skylar, I put them in in the morning, and let her just wear them around the house for 3-4 hours before taking them out.  When I did, we got this…

.

.

The curls were so beautiful!  All I did to style them was run my fingers through the curls to separate them a bit, and pull the front sides back with a pinch clip.

.

(Sorry for all the crazy faces in these pictures.  Most of the pics were blurry)

.

This product also works great on moms.  Incase you are wondering if I tried it out on myself…

.

.

Yes.  Yes I did.

.

And if you need to run to the store or something, just throw a hood on it.  I’m sure no one will notice.

.

.

I used the blow dryer on my hair, and the curls were outrageous! (As is my lack of makeup in these photos!)

.

.

My hair never holds curls.  Ever.  These lasted throughout the evening, I slept on them, and still had great curls the next morning!  I’m such a huge fan.  The possibilities are endless.  Want to see it with a cute headband?  Me too…

.

.

If you are jumping up and down screaming “Where do I get these?!?”, just find your nearest Sally Beauty Supply, or you can buy them off their website.  I will warn you, they are a little spendy, but worth it if you need help getting great curls.  They have lots of different sizes, and each pack has 2 different colors.  (The different colors twist in different directions, to give a more natural look.  You will want to alternate them in your hair)  It took 17 curlers to do Skylar’s hair, and 23 to do mine (we both have very thick hair).

.

Happy Curling!

P.S.  I wanted to throw out a disclaimer here, just to make sure we are all on the same page.  My love of Curlformers is my own opinion, for which I was not compensated.  I’m just passing on info on a product I am currently enjoying.
