Strange things people search for to land on my blog April 11, 2012

.

I don’t know if the rest of you lovely bloggers out there do this, but I occassionally check out the Search Engine Terms section of my stats pages.  I like seeing what people are looking for, and how they landed here.  What really keeps me going back there is seeing some of the totally random stuff that people have typed into a search engine, and somehow end up at my website.  Sometimes they are funny, but I know exactly what they are looking for, like…

.

the game where u put the hair on the guy

Ah yes, you are looking for a game called Wooly Willie, and I wrote about  it in a post where I made a basket of car activities (check it out *here*).  Had I not known what this person was talking about, this would have been a little awkward.

.

Or…

.

how do you defeat the sock monster

One of my earliest posts is called Goodbye Sock Monster, and gives an easy tip on not losing little toddler socks in the washing machine.  But I do have to wonder if this person is actually planning something sort of other-worldly battle, in which evil comes in the form of a stealing-one-sock-from-the-pair-just-to-make-you-question-your-sanity sort of creature.

.

Some searches, however, are not so clear.  Allow me to share a few of my favorites….

.

little bit of this little bit of that meaning

I can get behind this one.  But does someone really not know this?

.

Baby background paper

What does that even mean?

.

Teacher gifts with a conscience

I thought my teacher gifts were cool, but maybe not…

.

Bacon and perogie pie, bacon and pierogie pie, bacon & pierogie pie, pierogie bacon pie…

I got all of these in one day!  I fully understand this person’s need for Bacon Pierogi Pie, because it’s delicious!!!  Alright fine, just let me help you with this one… *Click Here*

.

Supermarket owl cake

I’ve never make anything with owls.  Certainly not a supermarket cake.

.

ромашки

What is that?  It’s not even in english!

.

search gonegf

Don’t think this one is either

.

swan tin foil pipe

When I first read this I of course thought of the leftovers wrapped in tin foil shaped like a swan.  But what’s the pipe about?  Now I’m confused.  And there’s no swans here…

.

jelly belly harry potter bertie bott beans collectible tin

Does this really exist?  If it does I want it!!

.

uncooked skin on brats

Eww!

.

round boiled icing cakes

Since I don’t know what this is, it sounds really weird.  Can anyone clue me in?

.

daughter mouth

Umm…yeah what about it?

.

child’s index finger

Um…I hope you’re not looking for one.

I hope you found what you were looking for =)

I really hope you found what you were looking for.  P.S…why didn’t you just put that as the web address instead of searching for it?  Just curious…

.

So there you have a very interesting collection of random things people search for to find my blog.  I hope you got a little chuckle out of it.  I think I will need to occasionally list these!

Have a great day!

What do you mean it’s not included? August 31, 2011

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Lizz @ 1:24 pm

I’ve been shopping around recently for a wrist strap for my DSLR camera.  In my web surfing, I came across one whose photo cracked me up so much I felt the need to share.

.

.

Now, I’m no dummy, so I obviously know that a nice camera like that is not included in the $27.99 price.

.

I do, however, appreciate the explanation that the hairy man hand will not be included in the price either.  I can just imagine my disappointment upon opening that package, and finding just a strap.

.

So to whatever advertising whiz came up with that photo, I either applaud your humor or shake my head at your stupidity.  But either way, thanks for the laugh!

Happy Birthday Ma Sista!! July 8, 2011

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Lizz @ 11:57 am

Today is my sister’s birthday!

.

I originally wanted to find some nice pictures, and say wonderful nice things about her.  Then I thought this would be better:  A montage of embarrassing photobooth pictures we took a while ago that still make me laugh every time I see them.

.

.

(And now I’m hoping she doesn’t kill me for posting those…but they’re just so funny!)

.

So, to my amazing sister…

.

.

You impress me on a daily basis.  Only a free spirit like you could jet off to Africa to take care of baby monkeys.

.

.

Only you could create such amazing artwork

.

.

And only you would let me post this sort of stuff and still talk to me tomorrow!

.

.

I love you ma sista!  Have the happiest of happy birthdays!

Skylar the Humanitarian June 14, 2011

My daughter is a very good person.  Last week, she cut her hair and donated it to Locks of Love.  If you do not know, Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that creates wigs for underprivileged children who need them.  Skylar loved the idea that a little kid who doesn’t have hair, because he or she is sick, will now have it.  All because of her amazing generosity.

.

In order to be a donator, one must have a minimum of 10 inches of hair to spare.  That’s a lot of hair.  But that’s one thing my kiddo had in abundance.  I took a few photos to commemorate the occasion.

.

Here’s Skylar before:

.

And here she is after:

.

I think she looks adorable with short hair!  And boy is she loving it!

.

We took her to our local KidSnips, knowing that they would do the donation for us.  Snip Snip Snip…

.

.

Her hair was measured several times to make sure it was the right length.  I wasn’t kidding about those ten inches.

.

.

When she first saw that hair, she said “Awww…I wish I had that!”  I’m not sure she even realized it was hers! Posing with the hair was a must.

.

.

Grr! Tomahawk!!

.

.

Doesn’t she look great?!

.

KidSnips presented Skylar with a certificate to help commemorate her good deed.

.

.

Another added bonus to this whole thing is that we get to cross off a big item on our summer bucket list.

.

Summer Bucket List 2011 – Item #51

Donate Skylar’s hair to locks of love Done 6/9/11

.

Thanks for checking out Skylar’s new do.  Now I have to learn some new short hairstyles.  Any suggestions?

.

Have a great week!
