I haven’t made a holiday specific treat in a long time. While perusing this twist on a Rice Krispie Treat on Sing For Your Supper’s site, I decided this was something Skylar and I should do together. We’ve never made Rice Krispie Treats! (I know, bad mom award!) I modified this recipe very slightly. When I showed it to Skylar, she had one demand: Chocolate Only! And thus, Count Chocula Treats were born!

To make, gather these ingredients:
.
.
Melt 3 tablespoons of butter/margarine on low heat. Have a small child add 4 cups of mini marshmallows (Very Carefully!!)
.
.
and continue to stir until it’s all smooth and melty.
.
.
Remove from heat. Have a small child add 6 cups of cereal.
.
.
Remind her that it gets harder to stir when she does this one small handful at a time.
.
Get ignored
.
.
Laugh at how spider-webby it looks when you stir it all up to evenly coat the cereal (and excuse poor picture quality)
.
.
Gently press the mixture into a 13×9 baking dish (sprayed with cooking spray)
.
Optional: cover with Halloween sprinkles (ours were pumpkin shaped)
.
.
Allow time to cool, and cut into squares
.
.
Find missing square in your daughter’s mouth.
.
.
Enjoy the sugar buzz!
