I came across this super cute and super easy headband over at Sweet and Simple, and I really wanted to give it a try.  If you are in need of a last-minute Easter hair accessory, this might be a good one for you.  Start by gathering your materials:

.

(I would like to mention first that my new fancy camera was not at home when I started doing this project, so the process pictures are not the best…but I digress…)

.

.

  • Hot glue gun
  • Piece of felt
  • Variety of Easter colored ribbons
  • Old headband (or a $1 one from the craft store)
  • Something egg-shaped to trace (I used a cookie cutter)
  • Scissors and a pencil

.

Start by tracing out 2 egg shapes in the felt.  One should be slightly smaller than the other.  Cut these out.

.

.

Next, use the hot glue gun to secure strips of ribbons across the larger egg-shaped felt piece.  Make sure there is excess ribbon on both sides.

.

(front)                                                                                     (back)

.

Then take the extra ribbon and fold it over on the back side.  Do this so the egg shape shows in the font.  It will look something like this:

.

.

The egg will look like this in the front:

.

.

The last step is to attach the egg to the headband, using the glue gun.

.

.

As a finishing touch, glue the smaller felt egg to the back, to cover all of the ribbon ends.

.

.

Now give it to a happy little girl who loves the idea of having an egg on her head

.

.

.

Have a Happy Easter Everyone!!
