A Little Bit of This & That

The Random Things We Love to Make and Do

Pancreatic Cancer Action Network April 21, 2011

Filed under: Miscellaneous — Lizz @ 4:03 pm

A very sad thing happened at the beginning of this year.  My best friend Mara (of What’s for Dinner?) lost her father to pancreatic cancer.  We all know how devastating it is to lose a loved one, and I know that many of you that know Mara sent all of your love and support to her.  Well, Mara has decided that now is the time to act and do what she can to help prevent this disease from affecting any more families.  And I am going to help her.

On April 30th, I will join Mara and her family in PurpleStride Chicago 2011, a 5K run/walk for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.   We will be walking together as Team Ripple, in remembrance of the wonderful Steve Omilinsky (and his love of the Grateful Dead).

And here is where I ask for your help.  These events are established to raise money, and in this case the money will go toward supporting pancreatic cancer patients, and research for a cure.  If you would like to help, any donation is greatly appreciated.

If you are not sure that a straight donation is right for you, please come back tomorrow (Friday, April 22nd), when Mara will be hosting the Online Flea Market for PanCan.  All proceeds will be donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.  .

During the online flea market, you will have an opportunity to bid on amazing items donated by bloggers.  You might find crafts, food, even services.  You’ll just have to come check it out to see what’s there!  Want a preview of what you might find from A Little Bit of This and That?

Pretty Pretty Pretty!!  Now remember this is a one day opportunity, so make sure you set yourself a reminder to come back!

Thank you all for your love and support.  With your help, we might finally find a cure for this horrible disease.
