A Little Bit of This & That

This week daughter’s school is participating in Read Across America.  They have set a goal to read 40 books throughout this week!  They are also reading the works of the wonderful and wacky Dr. Seuss.  To make this week even more fun, they have had some special dress-up days.  Monday was mixed-up clothes day.  I thought I would share the progression of Skylar’s outfit:

.

.

We started with a normal outfit (so she could look non-crazy for the rest of the day)

.

.

Then we added a dress.  I thought she actually looked sort of cute, so we took it up a notch.

.

.

And added a skirt.  In the wrong place.

.

.

Then some leg warmers on her arms.  (Has anyone else been watching Glee?!?)

.

The next step required a hairdo…

.

.

I did a half french braid on each side of her head.

.

.

Then I pulled all of her hair up with the braids to create 2 high pigtails.  I did it this way because the braids keep the high pigtails up, and they don’t fall out halfway through the day.

.

Then we added all of the finishing touches:

.

.

A pair of shorts on her head, with her pigtails sticking through the legs, mismatched shoes, and mismatched socks.

.

Tada!!  A mixed-up outfit!

.

Keep checking back for all of the other crazy things Skylar wears to school this week!
